3, 2, 1…launch!

This is it! In two days we’ll finally be releasing our album, Crayon Wars at Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto! Woo! For those of you not in the city, both digital and vinyl will also be available online via Bandcamp.

But also, to cap off our residency as band of the month, The Indie Machine is streaming our entire album for the rest of the week. And they’ve also taken the time to write an amazingly detailed review too!

Speaking of reviews, we love it when people are pleasantly surprised. A couple weeks ago Grayowl Point posted a review that summarizes our music in a great way: “Underneath the synths, drum machines and guitars, Wendy Versus has a big, vulnerable heart. And it’s impossible to not appreciate that.”

And thanks to WildWorks on CKCU FM for spinning Control on this morning’s program. We’ll be seeing you soon, Ottawa!

If you think we’re done, we’re just getting started. Stick around – there’s very exciting news around the corner…

New song stream, radio play and a video review!

The folks at Two Way Monologues have been great supporters-turned-friends of ours for many years. I first met them when I released my last solo album, Stop/Start, and they’ve been following closely ever since. They’ve watched this band develop and have been waiting (for years!) for us to finish our album, so it’s not a surprise that they are helping us throw our vinyl release show on June 1. This week on their blog they’ve reviewed Crayon Wars and are also streaming a new track that isn’t even up on our own site yet! Head over to TWM to listen to Open My Eyes.

Speaking of exciting new things, White Noise was the “Track to Start Your Saturday Night…” on last week’s episode of Bandwidth on Ottawa’s CBC Radio One.

And last but not least, Tiana from Ride The Tempo spoke about all the songs on Crayon Wars in her video review.

All good news!

Countdown to vinyl release starting…now!

It’s been a bit silent on the blog front but facebook friends may have noticed bits and pieces coming together to assemble 300 vinyl copies of Crayon Wars.

Well, they’re finally done! And just in time too, because we’re counting down to our album release party on June 1 at Sneaky Dee’s (Toronto) which we’re hoping you’ll join us for. We’ll dance, we’ll play and then we’ll dance some more. We won’t want to miss you and you won’t want to miss Lovely Killbots, Mix Chopin or Patrick Grant and band. More on this in the coming weeks…

Meanwhile, kind words like these from Panic Manual are popping up and oh, we’re The Indie Machine‘s featured artist of the month so stay tuned there for more fun from us too!
